In 1929 the realization of this building represented the most significant project called Grandhotel Klíč that time, later renamed for Sokolovo. In 1968 a project for reconstruction and modernization of the spa house was approved but never effected.

So the spa house Janacek had been constantly used and only in 1984 the work on the greatest reconstruction was started, which the Spa Teplice nad Bečvou had never experienced before. The original spa house Sokolovo with a new name Janáček was reconstructed until autumn 1988 and new balneal services and new housing facilities were established. All the above mentioned facilities create an interconnected functional unit. So the spa got a complex and nowadays it has already 212 beds of the 1st and 2nd category, own boarding service with a choice of 9 dietary meals, a spacious and airy coffee-room, a cocktail lounge, a 24 hours reception desk and a hairdresser’s. In the curative area there are 24 baths available for carbonated baths, water cure, electrotherapy, a rehabilitation unit, massages, magnetotherapy, paraffin, gymnasiums, gas baths, solarium and fitness center etc. Further a wide range of special products is available (Vitality, Detoxication cure, One day in the spa, Oxygenotherapy, Weight reduction cure...).

The motto in the foyer of the sanatorium Janáček „SALUS AEGROTI SUPREMA LEX“ „Man’s health - our greatest objective“ describes the mean idea. There is a central receiving and accommodation office in this building providing accommodation in the whole area of the spa as well.

SPA sanatorium Janáček is also equipped with the POLARIUM ARKTIKA since October 2006, an advanced cabin, which applies the whole-body cold therapy. POLARIUM ARKTIKA is used by our patients but also by many sportsmen (women) or people with various diseases.

In todays cardiologic spas the rehabilitation of clients with disorders of cardio-vascular system is carried out. This rehabilitation follows recommended procedures of Czech cardiologic association which have been developed in compliance with the recommendations of European standards. In the spa Teplice nad Bečvou there is not a classical treatment when the client goes passively through the spa procedures but it is mainly an active process of intervention to a lifestyle of a person with cardio-vascular problems who is co-operating on his health condition.

The main target of the treatment is to return this way affected client into the working and social status which they had before his illness or to provide such status in the society which uses all functional reserves and ensures the sick person the life maximum even when the body capacities are lowered.

The spa is appropriately equipped for modern rehabilitation with staff and also with apparatus so that the cliet could be after thorough preliminary examination integrated into the curative process according to his recent health condition. Clinical consideration of the condition requires also to carry out some purely special cardiologic examinations as a load ECG test, echogram examination and possibly also monitoring techniques.
